All her life, Echo has feared what lies beyond the boundaries of her family’s land.

Raised in isolation in a cabin deep within the forest, she knows the dangers that lurk past the wooden stakes: monsters, evil men, and a kingdom ruled by a crown she’s been taught to despise. As long as she does what her father says, she’ll be safe.

But one night, everything changes.

A terrifying encounter in the woods leaves a beast dead, her sister fighting for her life, and Echo with no knowledge of how either happened. Cast out from the only home she’s ever known, she finds herself at the mercy of the last person she should trust: Prince Romulus Anastas, second in line to the very throne she’s spent her life hating.

With nowhere else to turn, Echo reluctantly follows Rom into a kingdom ravaged by blight, illness, and fear. The dangers she’s been warned about are all too real. But as she confronts a world she’s always hidden from, she begins to question the one thing she’s always believed about herself: that she’s too weak to survive it.

But Rom seems to have answers he’s unwilling to share. And with dangerous forces stirring throughout the kingdom, Echo must decide whether she can trust the man who has become her closes ally, or whether he has reasons of his own for keeping her close.

Because the greatest danger may not be the monsters she was raised to fear.

It may be the truth she’s never been allowed to discover.
